1. The Impact of AI to Research and Education Networks
by Paresh Khatri, APAC CTO and Chief Architect, IP Network Infrastructure, Nokia (45 min)
The research community has been applying AI as a tool for scientific advancement. Along with compute and storage, networking is one of the three fundamental pillars necessary for a High-Performance AI Infrastructure. We will discuss setting up and managing High Performance Data Center or HPC clusters through a Networking lens, focusing on optimizing performances, automation and security. We will discuss architectural considerations and as well as unique ideas to provide automation and extensibility allowing you to keep pace with future technological advancements
2. Countermeasures for Research Education Networks to effectively Secure, Protect
and Mitigate from increasingly sophisticated Network Attacksby Yasuo Kashimura, Japan Head of IP Networks for Nokia (45 min)
This session aims to be an actionable resource for security professionals, network engineers, and decision-makers who are grappling with the increasingly sophisticated nature of network infrastructure threats and specifically DDoS. We’ll go peak under the hood and look at how using AI/ML for Network-optimized DDoS Mitigation can greatly assist and ensure that your performance isn’t high-jacked for nefarious purposes and that your critical research and time sensitive experiments are protected. We’ll also touch on Quantum Safe Networking to protect your data from the risk of quantum computers coming in the near future.
