What are Identity federation and how can they help researchers, academic and students to access services, collaborate and solve the big problems?

Identity federations provided multilateral arrangements that allow campuses to take advantage of the identity infrastructure and possibly of services offered at other institutions.

This session we will provide and introduction to identity federations, investigate their benefits, uses, technologies and policies and provide many references the participants use for further investigation.

SOI Asia Community Research Framework promotes inter-university collaborative research activities and students' involvement in the research activities.
This session introduces several research topics in this framework supported by SOI Asia with several presentations by SOI Asia members, which include topics in networking, digital badging for education, as well as the use of AI/ML for agriculture produce and public transportation. Through our experience, we discuss the value of community-based research collaboration. This session is targeted mainly to researchers and educators in APAN who are interested in those topics as well as the joint-research framework.

Enhancing APAC connectivity through submarine cable innovation by Kazuo Fujii, SoftBank Corp.
This presentation will highlight the importance of submarine cables in global communication, featuring the Newest Intra Aisa cable, Asia Direct Cable (ADC) project. Through those activities, SoftBank will contribute to the develpment and enhancement of the Asia-Pacific infrastructure and research and education networks.
