Dr. Tomohiko Moriyama, M.D., Ph.D. is a gastrointestinal endoscopist and a director of Telemedicine Development Center of Asia (TEMDEC), Kyushu University Hospital. For more than 20 years, he has been keen on endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancer and has taught gastroenterology and endoscopic techniques to more than 100 Japanese residents and 200 foreign trainees. Since 2016, he has been involved in telemedicine projects, which widely and dramatically spread worldwide during the pandemic. He is now the chairman of Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) Medical Working Group, which promotes better healthcare and medical education through telemedicine.
